This house had been neglected for many years. The crawlspace had become saturated with moisture and this was causing a toxic soup of unwelcome microbial growth to start to take hold on the framing. Moisture was wicking into the insulation, which in turn made the insulation fall from its connections to the joists. Bluewater Restoration removed and cleaned out the entire crawlspace of insulation, the old vapor barrier, and debris. We cleaned the joists from pockets of fungal growth, installed a new 6 mil vapor barrier, and hung fresh new insulation.
